Jemma Crosbie - Veterinary Nurse

(Certificate II Animal Studies)
(Certificate III Advanced Animal Studies)

With over 12 years of experience working at Port Vets, Jemma started her vet nursing career with Port Macquarie Veterinary Hospital's original owner, Frank Arnell.

Jemma shows compassion and care to all creatures great and small. Jemma is always eager to learn new skills in the veterinary field. She is constantly extending her education in areas that help assist her patients.

Jemma enjoys the diversity of her job from surgery to patient care, animal handling and to assisting in treatments of every animal, from the smallest of native creatures that FAWNA rehabilitate, to our equine patients. She also has a keen interest in animal behaviour, training and breeding.

Jemma particularly loves personal interactions with the clientele and their beloved pets. From getting over excited at the joy of your new baby, to being there for a shoulder to cry on when you have to say goodbye to your special friend..

Jemma was destined to end up in the animal industry. As a child she was found countless times emptying out her school bag to fit in abandoned puppies while walking past the pound.

In her limited spare time, she enjoys spending it with her loved ones, listening to music, cooking and having a laugh. She adores her 5 year old  Groodle “Luka” and hopes to add to her fur family, in the near future.
